研究紹介
人間の目標指向的行動と心の働きの柔軟性を支えている高次制御機能 (executive function;実行機能)について，作動記憶 (working memory)という心理学構成概念を軸に研究しています。特に，作動記憶の働きを測定していると考えられている作動記憶スパン課題について，その課題特性を解明すべく理論的・実証的検討を進めています。また，アクション・コントロールにおける言語性・音韻性の作動記憶の役割を調べるとともに，言語性の作動記憶を支える音韻ループ (phonological loop)というシステムのメカニズムについて実験研究を行ってきました。言語の超分節的な特徴が音韻ループ機能の実現に与える影響についての研究や，その発達的経過についての共同研究も進行中です。アクション・コントロールにおける音韻ループの役割を考えるとき，個々の行為を引き出す意味情報が，音韻的な情報からどのようにして導かれるのかという点も重要ですが，こうした意味部門と音韻部門の関係については，意味アクセスにおける音韻媒介機能を検討すること，音韻情報の保持に及ぼす意味情報の役割を検討することによって解き明かそうとしています。学習能力の柔軟性と関連するテーマとして，協同想起や超記憶者の記憶に関する共同研究も実施しています。
