'The
life and work of Y. K. Yen (1839-1898) were discussed on the basis
of new matrerial. He translated Joseph Haven's "Mental Philosophy" in
1889 that became the first introduction of Western psychology to
China. He was also the first translator of Herbert Spencer's "Education" and
Arinori Mori's "Education in Japan".
