Abacus
Training Effects on Imagery Generation and Operation in Children
T. Hatta & T. Hirose |
Transfer
effects of abacus learning on imagery processing were discussed with
three groups of primary school children who had different skill levels.
The results showed that subjects who have much learning experience
were superior in image operation but not in imagery generation. This
superiority was seen only for digit stimulus but not for other kind
of stimulus. These results suggest that transfer effect by abacus
training on imagery processing in children is small and domain-specific.
